MY STORY
My name is Jaclyn and I am the girl behind Ferry Good Treats. During my earlier years in life, baking was something I always enjoyed doing for the special people in my life. I loved asking them about their favorite treats or candy and then turning it into a baking creation. I never dreamed it would be my career. I was certain being a teacher was for me. Fast forward, it turned out, teaching wasn’t for me. I was bartending at Paddy Whacks (my next door neighbor ) when the opportunity opened up for me to persue my teaching degree. While I thought thee absolute best seventh grade class known to mankind, there was a pit in my stomach that I hadn’t found my calling. So after a year, I walked away. I went back to the service industry, but this time down at the Philadelphia sports stadium, Citizens Bank Park. I decided I’d go back to what I enjoyed until I found my next move.
Somewhere along the line, I made my close friend a special cheesecake, the Whipped Marshmallow Cheesecake. She reached out and encouraged me to sell it. Sell a cake? Could I do it ? So in November of 2016, I sold my first 86 cheesecakes that cake from a Facebook post. Everyone wanted to know what I was baking for Christmas, so I continued to bake. From that moment on, I never stopped. I learned how to make decorative cakes, tiered cakes, cake pops, sugar cookies, and the beloved… buttercakes. My baking business grew and grew and officially opened its doors in October on 2022 back where I once felt home, next to Paddy Whacks. Ferry Good Treats grew from a cheesecake but has blossomed into so much more. It is now a custom bake shop, and my number one passion in life.
I love working with customers that become friends to create the sweets they dream of I aim for love and taste in every bite, for every person that walks through my door.
